The rare gas full extraction device is used to extract five rare gases (pure argon, crude helium and neon mixture, krypton-lean and xenon-lean liquid) by air rectification. The mixture of crude helium and neon is obtained in the crude helium-neon column from helium-rich neon gas generated through the lean xenon tower evaporator.

There are two ways to obtain krypton-lean and xenon-lean liquid: for the air separation unit with external compression process which mainly produces oxygen gas products, krypton and xenon are preconcentrated with liquid oxygen as raw material; for the air separation unit which produces liquid products with the expanded air entering the lower column and the air separation unit with liquid oxygen pump internal compression process, krypton and xenon are preconcentrated mostly with oxygen-enriched liquid air as raw materials. After preliminary separation in the air separation unit to obtain a crude gas enriched with rare gas, the crude gas is stored and transported to a dedicated refining line for final purification of the rare gas.
